A Tricky Tassie Trickle Trek
A scout is on a hike and has a possum, a Tasmanian devil, and a lettuce.
He comes to a river that has no bridge, but a small raft to cross the river.
The raft can hold only one of the three things he has, plus himself, of course.
If he takes over the Tasmanian devil first, the possum will eat the lettuce.
If he takes over the lettuce first, the Tasmanian devil will eat the possum.
How does he solve the problem?
Patrol Outings
Four scouts are patrol leaders of different patrols, each patrol went on a different outing at a different time of the year. Use the following clues to determine which scout is in which patrol, which activity they did at which time of the year. Answer the questions at the end.
Clues:
- The Lizards patrol doesn’t like water activities;
- The girls didn’t go out in spring or autumn;
- The canoeing patrol got sunburnt on their December trip;
- The Wombats knew they would need raincoats and woollens on their hike;
- Dianne was proud to make PL of the Possums;
- Adam taught his patrol some helpful skiing tips before their trip;
- Bruce’s patrol had to repair some tents after their trip in April.
